Diocesan Meeting With Archdeaconry Coordinators And Leaders & prayer
DioceseTSAVO REGION CLERGY SPOUSES/LAY LADY CANONS RETREAT & prayer
MAMA NGINA GIRLS HIGH SCHOOLThe Youth are the most energetic group both physically and emotionally. If their energies are tapped, harnessed and well utilized they can be a great blessing to church and society. If not, they are the most vulnerable group because their energies can be abused.
The Kenya Anglican Youth Organization (AYO) was started in the year 1962 by the then Bishop of Mt Kenya Diocese – the Late Obadiah Kariuki. He started it with the aim of bringing young people to the church of Christ. He had a great vision for young people and wanted a forum where they would be empowered in matters of faith and equipped to be soldiers of Christ. This department serves young people from 13 years and above.
The KAYO leadership organizes for conferences at both the Diocesan and Provincial level to bring together Anglican youth to be taught about faith and their personal Growth. KAYO members initiate projects which earn them an income and also provide employment. These include shoemaking, making and selling tablecloths and even building houses to be rented out among others. The members also receive training in entrepreneurial skills and are encouraged to pursue education.
In the year 1964, the Bishop launched the Diocesan A.Y.O at the St. Paul’s mother church Kabete and a youth committee was commissioned to carry on the enormous youth work in the Diocese. In the consequent synod all other Bishops agreed to start A.Y.O in their Dioceses. The name was later changed from A.Y.O to KAYO to cover the entire country.
In Mombasa we have Diocesan Youth Organizer (D. Y .O). The D.Y.O is the appointee of the Bishop. there is also a Diocesan Chairperson appointed by the Bishop. The Diocesan Leadership is held by the Diocesan Executive Committee comprising of the Chairman, DYO, Archdeaconry Coordinators both Clergy and Laity. The Leadership trickles down to the Deaneries, Parishes as well as the Congregations
Be strong in the Lord.
Ee KAYO Mashahidi wa Yesu
Chama kikuu chenye kusudi kubwa
Kinawapendeza vijana, wasichana kwa wavulana
Ee KAYO Mashahidi wa Yesu
A Growing, Caring Anglican Youth boldly Proclaiming Christ
To Reach and Equip the Youth to Transform the Society with the Gospel
I promise to serve Jesus Christ all the days of my life, to pray and read the Bible each day, to reach out to other young people, caring for K.A.Y.O members and to keep this promise.
Teach me good Lord to serve you with all my strength, body, soul and mind. To love you and rejoice in you always. To offer my services without counting the cost. I pray that your Holy Spirit will give me courage, to fight against the wicked spiritual forces, by the help of your word. To labor in your vineyard, looking forward to eternal life. In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

• Most parishes have started income generation activities which assists them in sponsoring their activities to reduce the burden from main parochial accounts. Some of these projects have created employment and side hustles to the membership.
• As a means of raising income for diocese activities, we proposed the following.
• Planned Visitation by the diocesan office for all archdeaconries immediately after the AGM, this fellowship will look into having discussions at the archdeaconry level on how we could grow together as the young people. • Re constitution of the Mission team leadership at this AGM to enhance mission work for the department.

The Kenya Anglican men’s Association traces its roots from the Mother’s Union operations. Retired Archbishop Manasses Kuria was so impressed by the work of the Mothers’ Union that he felt it right to start what was formerly referred to as the Fathers’ Union. The union first started in the same parish where the first pioneer Mothers’ Union members had been enrolled, namely Mwongoiya in Anglican Diocese of Mount Kenya South. It has over the years grown and spread to all the ACK Dioceses across the Country, becoming part and parcel of the Church ministry....
